Black Bird is a six-episode psychological thriller series about Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton), a high school football hero and convicted drug dealer. He is given the choice of going to a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriending suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser) in order to get a confession and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried, or staying in his minimum security prison with no possibility of parole. He soon realizes that the only way out is to solve the mystery, but is Hall telling the truth or is he just another serial liar?
