Apple TV+ Greenlights 'The Off Weeks' Starring Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain
Apple TV+ is expanding its star-studded lineup with a new eight-episode limited series, "The Off Weeks," starring and executive produced by Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain.
Apple TV+ has officially ordered “The Off Weeks,” an eight-episode limited series set to star and be executive produced by Hollywood heavyweights Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain.
The series is described as a compelling drama following Gus Adler (Stiller), a writing professor whose life is thrown into chaos by a recent divorce. He navigates the challenges of co-parenting during his “on weeks” with his children. However, his life takes a dangerous turn during his “off weeks” when he falls for Stella West (Chastain), a mysterious woman whose arrival threatens to upend his entire world.
A Reunion of Talent
This project marks a significant reunion for its stars and creators. Stiller and Chastain previously worked together on the animated hit Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Furthermore, Stiller is no stranger to Apple TV+, having directed and produced the critically acclaimed series “Severance,” a show featured in our list of the best psychological thrillers.
The series will be directed by Michael Showalter (“The Idea of You”), with Alissa Nutting (“Made For Love”) serving as showrunner.
While a release date has not yet been announced, the combination of top-tier talent and a gripping premise makes “The Off Weeks” one of the most anticipated upcoming projects for Apple TV+.
